Winton Dinosaurs

Heading on an easy two hours to Winton. Kids were super excited about finally getting to the dinosaur leg of the trip. Age of Dinosaurs and the Trackways Dinosaur stampede.
Megan enjoyed both but I get the feeling little Peter was little disappointed their weren't a lot of big dinosaurs to see. Bit hard for a two year old to put bones and footprints into perspective. It was an hours drive out to the trackways, through some spectacular scenery, and the devastation of the drought become all too apparent.

Winton was a lovely little town, with very stinky bore water, and it was hard not to gag a little when showering. Great feed at the pub and free washing machines were a bonus. It was such a shame that the Waltzing Matilda Centre was devastated by fire, you can still smell that charred smoky smell months later.

The kids really loved the musical fence and all the other junkyard instruments that were there. It kept them amused for a while.
